With the launch of Sierra Nevada Brewery in 1980, Butte County, and specifically Chico, made its mark on the international beer map. Today, beer enthusiasts from all over flock to Chico to tour the famous brewery, taste fresh from the taps, and dine in the Taphouse. But there’s so much more to the area’s beer scene. Building on the legacy started by Sierra Nevada, dozens of nanobreweries, tap houses, craft beer bars, and even hard cideries have flourished across the county.
