Butte Coun­ty is 2.5 hours from the Bay Area and 1 hour and 15 min­utes from Sacra­men­to, eas­i­ly acces­si­ble on High­way 99 and High­way 70. It is also a morning’s dri­ve from Red­ding and foothill towns through­out the Sier­ra Neva­da and Cen­tral Valley.

TRAV­EL FROM SAN FRANCISCO

  1. Take I‑80 East toward Sacramento
  2. Merge on CA-113 North
  3. Cut over to High­way 99 North, which leads you into Butte County

Approx­i­mate Trav­el Time: 3 hours

TRAV­EL FROM SACRAMENTO

  1. Take CA-99 North
  2. Merge onto CA-70 to go to Oroville or con­tin­ue on CA-99 North to head to Chico and Paradise

Approx­i­mate Trav­el Time: 1.5 hours

TRAV­EL FROM RENO

  1. Take I‑80 West to High­way 20 towards Grass Valley/​Nevada City
  2. Turn right on Woodruff Lane to cut over to High­way 70 North (before Marysville/​Yuba City)

Approx­i­mate Trav­el Time: 2.75 hours

B‑Line pro­vides pub­lic tran­sit ser­vice for Butte Coun­ty. Also known as Butte Region­al Tran­sit, routes cur­rent­ly pro­vide con­nec­tions with­in and between Chico, Oroville, Par­adise, Gri­d­ley and Biggs.

AMTRAK

Amtrak San Joaquins’ Route 3 Thruway Bus serves both Chico and Oroville, con­nect­ing trav­el­ers to over 100 des­ti­na­tions through­out the state via the exten­sive Thruway Bus and train network. 

In Oroville, the bus stop recent­ly relo­cat­ed to 2550 Feath­er Riv­er Boule­vard, and shares a stop with the B‑Line local service. 

In Chico, the Bus stops at the Down­town Amtrak sta­tion, locat­ed at 450 Orange St, Chico, CA 95928.

Butte Coun­ty is approx­i­mate­ly 1.25 hours from Sacra­men­to Inter­na­tion­al Airport , 3.5 hours from San Fran­cis­co Inter­na­tion­al Airport , and 3 hours Reno-Tahoe Inter­na­tion­al Airport .

The Chico Munic­i­pal Airport and Oroville Munic­i­pal Airport are both gen­er­al avi­a­tion air­ports with no com­mer­cial air service.
