Momona is a noodle and bao restaurant located in the historic Sherwood Forest building in Downtown Chico. Momona offers a selection of dishes including Japanese style ramen, Hawaiian style poke steamed buns aka bao, and culturally and locally influenced small plates. Momona makes every attempt to source locally and sustainably.
Momona’s inspiration comes from the traditions of Japan, Taiwan, and Hawai’i. It is an non-traditional ramen house with a non-traditional atmosphere. Momona makes all of its broths, sauces, and pickled items in-house. The ramen noodles are provided by Sun Noodles; they are fresh (not dry) alkaline ramen noodles, a recipe created to keep noodles both firm and chewy in the extremely high-temperature broth. Their aim is for you to leave “fat and happy” after every meal.
You can also enjoy delicious craft cocktails from their expansive bar and late-night eats from their to-go bao window on Fridays and Saturdays.
Reservations strongly recommended.
