Maisie Jane Hur­ta­do, a fourth-gen­er­a­tion farmer’s daugh­ter, began exper­i­ment­ing with almond roast­ing in her teens. She start­ed the busi­ness as a Future Farm­ers of Amer­i­ca project in high school, which grew into a thriv­ing busi­ness of man­u­fac­tur­ing spe­cial­ty roast­ed and fla­vored nuts and nut but­ter under the icon­ic Maisie Jane’s brand.
