Located at the south end of Lake Oroville, Loafer Creek Recreation Area has 137 tent campsites, each with parking, a table and a cooking stove. The facility also includes a boat launch, restrooms, coin-operated showers, drinking water, swimming, group sites, a dump station, and equestrian and hiking trails. Trailers up to 31 feet and RVs up to 40 feet are welcome. There are no hookups at Loafer Creek, however, sanitation stations are available.

Loafer Creek Equestrian Campground
At the Loafer Creek Recreation Area, the Loafer Creek Equestrian Campground is one of the finest of its kind in the region. Located on the southeast side of the lake, the equestrian campground features 15 campsites designated for equestrian use, with each site able to accommodate 8 people, 2 horses, and 2 vehicles. Large groups can reserve more than one site.
Available year-round, reservations are normally available for camping dates from April 1 to October 15, up to 6 months in advance of arrival date. Other times of year are first-come, first-served.
