The Chico Creek Nature Center is the official information and education center for Bidwell Park in Chico.
Sharing the Wonder of Bidwell Park
As the official Visitor Center for the park, the Nature Center offers the public a variety of resources, including: park maps and directions, guided walks, family programs, camps and a chance to meet a collection of living animals. They are also a resource for regional schools providing many standards aligned field trip options and professional development programs including Project WILD and Project Learning Tree for teachers and informal educators alike. The Center also affords many volunteer opportunities to the community as well as internships for local college students.
The Chico Creek Nature Center property also features a native plant garden, a redwood grove with trees to climb, a natural teeter totter and fantastic area for fort building, and a prime location just a minute from Chico Creek in Bidwell Park.
Living Animal Museum
Located in the main building, the Janeece Web Living Animal Museum and Nature Play Room (LAM) features a nature playroom with books and toys, a small climbing wall, and the home of living animals such as bunnies, turtles, tortoises, hawks, snakes, frogs, lizards, and more!
